Terms of Use
Last updated: August 6, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lytt mobile app (app ID me.lytt.app), the Lytt website, the waitlist, and related services (together, the "Service"). By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Lytt matches members into small groups for in-person activities with something afterwards: a park hang, an easy 5K run and then coffee, and more formats over time. We assemble the group and plan the logistics. The activity itself happens in the real world, which is what Section 7 is about.
1. Who we are
LYTT is a registered Sole Proprietorship in Ontario, Canada (BIN: 1001449484). Questions about these Terms can go to support@lytt.me.
2. Eligibility
Lytt is for adults. You must be at least 19 years old and able to enter a binding contract. Lytt currently operates in the Greater Toronto Area and is not available everywhere. We may verify eligibility at any time.
3. Your account
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code sent by SMS. That means:
- Your phone number identifies your account. Keep your number and your device secure.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it current.
- Do not share your account, impersonate anyone, or sign up on someone else's behalf.
If you think someone else is using your account, email support@lytt.me.
4. Community conduct
Lytt puts strangers in a room, or on a running route, together. That only works if everyone behaves. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or intimidate anyone.
- Post or send hateful, discriminatory, violent, or sexually explicit content.
- Behave at a plan in a way that endangers or harms others.
- Spam, solicit, or use the Service for unauthorized commercial purposes.
- Share another member's private information, photos, or messages outside Lytt without their consent.
- Post content that is unlawful, deceptive, infringing, or not yours to share.
- Misuse, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt to break the Service or its security.
There is no place on Lytt for objectionable content or abusive behaviour, and we have no tolerance for either. We have a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation in particular; see our Child Safety Standards.
Reporting and blocking. You can report any message or member from inside the app: press and hold a message in your group chat, or open a member's card and choose "Report or block". You can block a member the same way. A blocked member disappears from your chat, you disappear from theirs, and we will not put the two of you in a group together again. Blocking does not tell them anything.
A person reviews every report and acts within 24 hours. We never tell the member you reported that you were the one who reported them. Depending on what we find, we may remove the content, remove the member from a plan, suspend them, or remove them from Lytt entirely. If you want a block reversed, email support@lytt.me.
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or remove members who break these rules or who we judge to be a risk to the community. We may report unlawful conduct to the authorities. We are not obligated to monitor content, but we may.
5. Your content
You own what you create: your photos, prompt answers, voice notes, and chat messages ("member content"). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display that content for the purpose of operating the Service, including sharing your profile with members matched into your group. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are required to keep or that other members have already seen in a group chat.
You are responsible for your member content and confirm you have the right to share it.
6. Cost
Lytt is free. There is no fee, no subscription, no paid tier, and nothing to buy. We do not ask for a payment method, we do not process payments, and we hold no financial information about you.
There is also no allowance, balance, credit, token, or virtual currency of any kind. Nothing is spent when you join a plan and nothing is lost if a plan is cancelled or if you change your mind. Lytt is access to real-world, in-person events: the whole benefit is showing up to a physical activity at a physical venue on a specific date, and it unlocks no digital content, features, or capability inside the app.
If you say yes to a plan and then cannot make it, tell your group in the app. Nothing is charged and nothing is deducted, because there is nothing to deduct. Repeatedly saying yes and not turning up may still result in suspension or removal under Section 4, since it affects the other members counting on you.
If we ever introduce a paid feature, we will say so clearly before you can buy anything, and these Terms will be updated first.
7. In-person activities and your assumption of risk
Read this section carefully. It is the most important one.
Lytt plans involve physical activity and meeting people you do not know in public places. Depending on the format that can mean running, cycling, sport, yoga, or simply spending an afternoon in a park. These carry real risk, including injury, illness, property damage, and the conduct of other people.
- You take part voluntarily and at your own risk. You are responsible for judging whether an activity suits your health and fitness. If you have any doubt, talk to a physician before starting.
- Lytt assembles groups and plans routes and meeting points. We do not supervise, coach, marshal, or provide medical support at plans. There is no Lytt staff member responsible for you during an activity.
- Venues, cafes, routes, and any third-party activities are operated by others. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.
- We do not run background checks on members. We match on interests and stated details, which we do not independently verify. You are responsible for your own judgment about the people you meet.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release LYTT and its owner, employees, and agents from claims arising out of your participation in a plan.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law does not permit such exclusion.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, the Lytt name and logo, and all related content other than member content, belongs to LYTT or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from it except as the law allows.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete my account in the app, or request it at lytt.me/delete-account. Note that deletion is blocked while you have a reserved event or a plan coming up, so cancel or complete those first. What happens to your data on deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you break these Terms or pose a risk to other members. Sections that should outlive the account, including Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12, survive termination.
10. No warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that a group will form for any given plan, that you will be matched, or that any member, venue, or third party will behave well.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LYTT is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed CAD 100. (The Service is free, so there are no amounts paid to us to measure this against.)
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the Service, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll give notice in the Service where appropriate. Your continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
